Ace

Ace is, well, an ace! This sweet and fun Shepherd would love a home with you. And you’ll love him right back!

Ace loves people, and greets his friends with a tail wag. He likes to lean against his person for a good scratch, and if you sit cross-legged on the floor he might just sit on your lap! Ace’s face lights up with a huge smile when he’s invited up on a couch for cuddlesbut this silly boy knocks himself off with happy wiggles at the affection!

Between 8 and 10 years old (although we are geared more towards younger as he’s in GREAT shape) , Ace is mature enough to behave well, but still active enough to live with an athletic family. He loves walks and car trips, and behaves beautifully on both. Did we say he loves car trip? He LOVES LOVES LOVES it when he finds your car door open and hops right in! If you want a dog who can hike with you in the morning and nap with you in the afternoon, Ace is your boy! One of this chill dude’s favorite activities is to sit with his people and just watch the world pass outside the window. He will occasionally peek outside his foster home’s fence and give a hello bark to passers-by, but such puppy hijinks are mostly behind him.

Ace obviously has been well-trained. He is fully house-broken and knows sit, down, stay, come, and even quiet! He probably knows a lot more tricks that we just haven’t discovered yet. Ace is treat-motivated, so can learn even more if you want to try advanced training.

After years of neglect, Ace had to have all his teeth removed. He eats commercially available soft food – but if you want to try some home cooking, we’re sure he’ll approve! Loving Ace could live with children of any age. He enjoys and is polite when meeting new dogs, so likely could live with a dog-sibling as well. He cannot live with cats.
