๐ Meet Miss Houdini: Now Safe and Sound!
After 7+ adventurous weeks roaming the streets from Campbell to Los Gatos and all the way to South San Jose, this clever escape artist โ lovingly named Houdini by the Nextdoor community โ has finally been caught and is now safe. ๐
We first heard about her after several kind neighbors shared sightings, and since weโve had success capturing runaway dogs before, I joined the effort to help. The biggest challenge? Houdini was living her best foodie life โ stopping by McDonaldโs, taco trucks, and anywhere she could charm someone into tossing her a treat! ๐๐ฎ Her belly was full, her spirit was free, and no one could get close โ if anyone tried, sheโd bark and dash away.
Then came an amazing professional trapper who organized the community, asking everyone to stop feeding her so she could finally take the bait โ and on November 1st, success! Houdini was safely trapped and brought to the shelter. Sadly, she wasnโt microchipped and had to go through the usual stray hold.
For now, sheโs resting and recovering at a local boarding facility. I visit her daily โ sheโs still shy, hiding in her little crate, but as soon as I step away, she sneaks out to enjoy her homemade meals. ๐ฒ๐พ
(Today was a breakthrough โ she finally took food right from my hand!)
Now weโre looking for a safe, loving foster โ or even better, a foster-to-adopt home โ for our sweet girl weโve named โValley.โ
We wanted to share this happy update with everyone whoโs been following her story and rooting for her.
Please contact us if you or someone you know is in a position to help our girl decompress in a more peaceful environment.
Thank you all for caring and helping in your own ways โ it truly takes a village. ๐โค๏ธ
Stay tuned on our page for more updates as sweet Valley continues to heal and blossom! ๐ท
One Planet Rescue is always in need of fosters โ and of course, financial support โ to continue helping these special cases.
