Foster-to-Adopt is an option

Meet 1 year old, spayed Sporty!

Sporty is a beautiful 1 year old girl full of love and playful energy. Sporty came to us from SJACC where she was really stressed and well beyond her deadline. Once out of the shelter, she was fully vetted and into a foster home. We quickly found out that all Sporty wants to do is be with her people to play and cuddle with. At 68 lbs, she’s sweet and smart but also very strong, which shows itself when curiosity strikes her to say hello to birds and squirrels when out on a walk. Sporty is food motivated and eager to learn, which can make it a lot of fun to train her.

Sporty loves playing with other dogs, hanging out with her people and can be anxious when left alone. She loves chewing on her kong and tug rope. She will need training with loose-leash walking and jumping on people when excited. We would like to get her into a home where she will have a playmate and people who are able to exercise and train her and give her mental and physical stimulation.

Sporty is still a pup at heart and we would love to get her into a home where she can blossom into adulthood.

Sporty is most suited to a loving home with an active lifestyle, previous dog experience, and a strong interest in positive reinforcement training methods.
